These supervision sessions focus on understanding the presenting problem and fostering constructive change from a developmental and family systems perspective. These supervision sessions emphasize strengthening therapist skills in working with individuals, couples and families.
A case consultation model will be used to elicit concepts. Cases will be drawn from the supervisee’s own clients. Didactic, role-play and experiential methods that include the use of audio-and videotape playback. Supervision sessions are held weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Typically, training consists of 10 sessions. Booster and refresher sessions are scheduled to follow all training. AAMFT supervision is available for all supervision training.
